About me
Irene is a longtime community organizer turned legislator. The daughter of immigrants, she became the first Korean-American woman to serve in the Virginia General Assembly when she was first elected in 2021. Irene serves on four committees: Communications Technology and Innovation (Vice Chair), Counties Cities and Towns (Subcommittee Chair), Labor and Commerce, and Health and Human Services. She is also appointed to numerous boards and commissions including the Commission on Youth and the Advisory Committee on Sexual and Domestic Violence. In her free time, you can find Irene on her yoga mat, in the pottery studio, playing Nintendo Switch, or reading. She lives in Herndon, VA with her husband, Peter and their goldendoodle, Mookie.
