About me
Jessica is the Senior Associate of Legislative Affairs at SiX where she supports the work of the Senior Director of Legislative Affairs as well as supporting the work of SiX State Directors, the Economic Power Project (EPP), the Tax Justice Initiative cohort, the LGBTQ+ Resource Bank, outreach to newly-electeds, data management, and SiX's impact monitoring and evaluation project.
Jessica began her journey with SiX as an intern in 2019, providing research, writing, and administrative support. Prior to joining SiX, she worked for a progressive Colorado State Senator as well as working on two electoral campaigns for the Colorado State House. She also worked for the LGBTQ+ advocacy group One Colorado and the reproductive health care provider Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. Jessica graduated summa cum laude from the University of Denver (DU) where she earned a BA with Honors in Political Science and English Textual Studies. She received the Outstanding Senior in Political Science award from DU and the 2018 Portz Scholar award from the National Collegiate Honors Council.
Beyond her work with legislators and advocacy organizations, Jessica is a science fiction / fantasy nerd and an avid Dungeons & Dragons player. She lives in Colorado with her sibling and hopes to get a dog soon!
