Jared Make serves as Vice President at A Better Balance (ABB), where he works alongside advocates and coalitions around the country to write and pass laws guaranteeing paid sick time and paid family and medical leave. With his colleagues at ABB, Jared has helped to draft laws that provide paid sick time to approximately 63 million Americans. He has championed the adoption and implementation of paid family and medical leave programs in 13 states and D.C., including the groundbreaking passage of Colorado’s FAMLI ballot initiative in 2020. Jared also co-founded ABB’s LGBTQ Rights and Family Recognition Project to protect the rights of LGBTQ workers, raise awareness about the diversity of family structures, and enact workplace policies that cover a range of caregiving relationships. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Politico, Fortune, Slate, Fast Company, The Denver Post, and Colorado Public Radio. Jared resides in Denver, Colorado.
