About me
Kara brings 20 years of training design, facilitation, organizational development, coaching and project management experience to the movement. Over her career, Kara has advised and managed highly contested campaigns, served as a Congressional liaison, navigated teams through complex moments of transition and designed learning spaces for movement leaders at the local, state and national level. Kara is one of the preeminent experts in the country for political leadership recruitment, training development and governance support for progressive leaders. Her partners have included the Progressive Governance Academy, re:power, Local Progress, State Innovation Exchange, NC Black Alliance, Emily’s List, Lillian’s List, DEMOS Inclusive Democracy Project, LEAD NC, Forward Together, Planned Parenthood and Working Families Party (PA/NY/MD). Kara lives in North Carolina with her partner Ashlei. She is made up of chocolate city history, fierce loyalty, “watch the quiet ones” power, and hours of building the lego city of her dreams.
