About me
Representative Ruwa Romman advised, implemented, and developed improved strategies for federal stakeholders to address policy challenges at the local, state, and federal level. In 2020, Ruwa leveraged her platform to inform thousands of Georgians how to get involved in the 2020 elections and worked as a field organizer for Asian American Advocacy Fund. Ruwa also co-founded the Georgia Volunteer Hub to train the influx of Georgia and national volunteers while connecting them to local Georgia organizations during the 2021 runoff elections.
In her first term, Representative Romman cosponsored the Reproductive Freedom Act, drafted legislation to disincentivize hedge funds purchasing homes, and drafted legislation to make EMS an essential service. She served on the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Information and Audits, and Interstate Cooperation committees.
Representative Romman made history by becoming the first Muslim woman elected to the Georgia State House and first Palestinian elected to any public office in the state.
