London P. Lamar is a dynamic leader and strategist committed to social justice and community empowerment. As State Senator for Tennessee’s District 33 and Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus, she is the youngest African American and woman elected to the Tennessee Senate, where she champions key issues like gun violence prevention, maternal health, and economic empowerment.
Senator Lamar’s experience spans program development and political advocacy. She previously directed the Center for Black Educator Development in Memphis, launching literacy programs and training educators. Her work has supported political campaigns at all levels, and she co-founded the Gen Next PAC to cultivate civic-minded young leaders.
An in-demand speaker, Senator Lamar has advised officials nationwide through the Progressive Governance Academy.
