Teresa Melendez, a citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Nation from Southwest Michigan, holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's degree in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education. She assumes the role of CEO at Nevada Native Solutions and Director of Programs with Tribal Minds, Inc., a Native non-profit. Noteworthy accomplishments include her role in advancing historic Tribal impact bills during the 2021 and 2023 Nevada state legislative sessions. Some of Teresa’s most prominent work stems from her dedicated advocacy for Native voting rights, evident in her relentless efforts to expand reservation-based polling locations through a combination of state legislation, educational initiatives, and legal actions.
